1.1 Operator
The operator of the BSN Community is Daniel Krause, Teichweg 13a, 50374 Erftstadt, Deutschland (“Operator”, “we”). The platform is a service offered by brettspiel-news.de.
1.2 Scope
These Terms of Use apply to the use of the website playednow.com (“BSN Community” or “Platform”) and to all submissions sent to the platform by alternative means (WhatsApp, Signal).
1.3 Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use with effect for the future. Material amendments will be communicated to registered users by e-mail or by notice on the platform. The current version is always available at this URL.
2. Registration and User Account
2.1 Requirements
Registration is open to natural persons. There is no entitlement to activation of a user account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide (name, e-mail) is accurate and complete.
2.2 User Obligations
You are obliged to keep your login credentials (e-mail, password) confidential and protect them against unauthorised access. You are liable for any use of your account unless the unauthorised access is not attributable to you.
2.3 Public Name
The name selected upon registration is publicly visible. It appears with your posts and comments. You may not use names that infringe third-party rights (e.g. trademark or name rights) or violate public decency.
3. Submission of Contributions
3.1 General
Contributions to the BSN Community may be submitted by the following means:
- Directly via the platform — with a registered user account
- Directly via the platform — without an account (providing name and e-mail)
- Via messenger (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram) to the number announced by the Operator — currently unavailable
3.2 Types of Contribution
The following types of content may be submitted:
- Text (up to 20,000 characters)

3.3 Submission via Messenger (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram)
Submission via a messenger service is an additional service offering and is currently unavailable. Should the service be offered again, the following applies: The use of WhatsApp, Signal and Telegram is subject to the respective terms of use and privacy policies of those services. The Operator is not liable for the availability of those services or for data processing that occurs before the message is received by our systems.
3.4 Approval
Contributions from registered users generally appear on the platform immediately. Contributions from unregistered submitters and those received via messenger may be subject to manual review before publication. There is no entitlement to publication.
4. Rights in Submitted Content
4.1 Your Ownership
You retain ownership of all rights in the content you create and submit (text, photos, videos, audio). By submitting it, you ensure that you hold the necessary rights in such content and that publication does not infringe any third-party rights.
4.2 Right of Use for the Platform
By submitting content, you grant the Operator a non-exclusive right of use unrestricted in time and territory in the submitted content. This right includes the storage, reproduction and making available to the public of the content on the BSN Community, as well as promotion of the platform using your content (e.g. in social-media posts referring to the Community). Use outside this scope — in particular commercial licensing to third parties — will not take place without your consent.
4.3 Expiry of the Right of Use
The right of use expires automatically as soon as you delete the relevant contribution or arrange for your account to be deleted. This does not affect use in printed publications or archived snapshots that were distributed before your deletion request.
5. Rules of Conduct
5.1 Principles
The BSN Community is a place for respectful exchange about board and tabletop games. We expect all participants to interact in a friendly and constructive manner.
5.2 Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following content and conduct are prohibited on the BSN Community:
- Hate speech, incitement to hatred and discrimination on grounds of origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or age
- Threats, harassment, bullying and personal attacks against other users
- Doxing — the publication of third parties’ personal data without their consent
- Pornographic, glorifying violence or harmful-to-minors content
- Spam, automated mass postings, chain letters and commercial advertising unrelated to the platform
- Copyright infringements — the use of third-party content without the permission of the rights holder
- Affiliate links and unlabelled advertising (topic-related product recommendations with a transparent connection are permitted, provided they do not violate section 5.3)
- Impersonation — pretending to have a false identity or affiliation
- Technical attacks — SQL injections, cross-site scripting, bots, crawlers outside the scope of robots.txt
5.3 Promotion of Products and Services
The promotion of your own or third-party products is permitted only where the promoted product has a thematic connection to board games and the contribution provides substantive added value to the Community (e.g. reviews, introductions, industry news). Purely promotional contributions without editorial added value are prohibited. The Operator reserves the right to label commercial submissions as advertising.
6. Content Filters and Moderation
6.1 Automated Filters
The BSN Community employs a multi-stage content filter that checks contributions for prohibited content before and after publication. The filter includes:
- Word-list filter (488+ blocked terms in 20+ languages)
- Regex-based phrase recognition
- Context scoring
Contributions classified as critical by the automated filter are withheld and manually reviewed. There is no legal entitlement for the automated filter to identify every prohibited contribution or for a withheld contribution to be published.
6.2 Moderation by the Operator
The Operator reserves the right to remove contributions and comments at any time and without prior notice if they violate these Terms of Use, are inappropriate in the Operator’s assessment, or endanger the security and integrity of the platform. Moderation is undertaken at the Operator’s discretion and in the interests of a constructive Community.
6.3 Reporting Violations
You may report prohibited content at any time to [email protected]. We will review every report promptly.
7. Suspension of User Accounts
The Operator may temporarily suspend or permanently delete user accounts if the user:
- has repeatedly violated these Terms of Use
- endangers the security or functionality of the platform
- systematically harasses, threatens or harms other users
- has provided false identity information
Where an account is suspended, we will, where possible, inform you of the reason for and duration of the suspension. In the event of permanent deletion, all your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Deletion of Content and Accounts at the User’s Request
8.1 Deletion of Contributions
You may at any time arrange for individual contributions or comments to be deleted — either yourself via the platform (if registered) or by e-mail to [email protected]. Deleted contributions will be removed from the platform completely and without delay.
8.2 Account Deletion
You may at any time and without stating reasons request the complete deletion of your user account and all related content. The deletion includes:
- Your user account (name, e-mail, password hash, registration and login data)
- All your contributions, comments and likes
- All media uploaded by you (photos, videos, audio)
- All metadata linked to your account
Send your deletion request to [email protected]. We will confirm complete deletion within 14 days.
9. Liability
9.1 Liability of the Operator
The Operator is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence. In the case of ordinary negligence, the Operator is liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), limited to foreseeable damage typical for the contract. This limitation of liability does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, body or health.
9.2 Liability for User Content
The Operator gives no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or legality of content posted by users. The content reflects solely the opinion of the respective user. Pursuant to §§ 8–10 TMG, the Operator, as a host provider, is responsible for third-party content only if the Operator becomes aware of its unlawfulness and does not act without delay.
9.3 Liability of the User
You are personally liable for the content you submit. By submitting content, you warrant that you hold all necessary rights and that the content does not violate applicable law. You indemnify the Operator against all third-party claims arising from the publication of your content.
9.4 Availability
The Operator endeavours to make the platform available with as little interruption as possible. However, there is no entitlement to constant accessibility. Maintenance work, technical disruptions and force majeure may result in temporary outages.
10. Final Provisions
10.1 Applicable Law
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. In relation to consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of the state in which the consumer has their habitual residence is not withdrawn.
10.2 Severability Clause
Should individual provisions of these Terms of Use be or become ineffective, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The ineffective provision shall be deemed replaced by a provision that comes legally closest to the economic purpose of the ineffective provision.
10.3 Jurisdiction
The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms of Use is — insofar as legally permissible — Mönchengladbach (Germany).
Current as at: August 2026
X. Rights in Content and Deletion of Contributions
You are personally responsible for the content you post and confirm that you hold the necessary rights. If content infringes third-party rights, the Operator may, at the request of the affected person (or, in the case of manifestly unlawful content, on its own initiative), hide or delete the contribution. Affected persons may use the form “Have contribution deleted” for this purpose.
In particular, the statutory provisions of the DSGVO (Art. 17, 18), the Kunsturhebergesetz (§§ 22, 23 KUG), the Urheberrechtsgesetz (§ 97 UrhG), §§ 823, 1004 BGB and §§ 185–187 StGB and § 20 Abs. 1 Nr. 1 of the Digitale-Dienste-Gesetzes (Notice-and-Take-Down) apply to hiding/deletion.
If a hidden contribution is not ultimately restored by the Operator, it shall be deemed removed upon the final decision. Before a final decision, the affected author will be given an opportunity to comment.
