Rules of Use & Community Rules

These rules apply to everything you write, upload or submit on playednow.com — posts, comments, messages, profile texts, images and videos. They complement our Terms of Service (the legal contract between us) and our Privacy Policy. Legal matters are governed by the Terms; this page defines what is allowed in the community and what is not.

1. Tone

• Write fairly — even when you disagree about a game.
• Insults, hate speech, threats, mobbing and personal attacks are prohibited.
• Disguised language counts the same: “F*ck”, “F1ck”, special-character spellings, letter swaps or switching to another language are treated like the direct insult.
• No personal data about others without their consent (doxing).

2. Politics

Factual, democratic discussion is allowed. Prohibited are political contents that violate the free democratic basic order or applicable law — in particular incitement to hatred, denial or trivialisation of National Socialism, Holocaust denial, and symbols or propaganda of banned organisations.

3. Protection of Minors & Pornography

• Pornography is prohibited — posting, linking, requesting or distributing, also as link, file or screenshot.
• Content sexually relating to minors leads to immediate permanent suspension and is reported to law enforcement.
• Glorification of violence and content harmful to minors is prohibited.

4. Advertising & Gambling

• Hidden or disguised advertising is prohibited — especially gambling, sports betting, crypto/investment promises and weight-loss/supplement products.
• Advertising for gambling is not allowed on playednow.com at all.
• Honest product recommendations related to board games are allowed; affiliate links must be labelled as such.

5. Illegal Acts

Prohibited is offering, requesting, brokering, promoting or instructing illegal goods or services — in particular weapons, drugs, forged documents, stolen goods, hacking services, fraud/scams, money laundering, extortion, identity theft and market manipulation.

6. More Rules

• No spam, chain letters or automated mass posts.
• No third-party content without the rights holder's permission (copyright).
• No fake identities (impersonation).
• No technical attacks on the platform (e.g. SQL injection, XSS, bots).

7. What happens if you break the rules?

Ladder: warning and removal of the post → 24-hour suspension → 7-day suspension → 30-day suspension → permanent suspension. Repeated violations escalate.

Immediate permanent suspension without prior stages for: content sexually relating to minors, incitement to hatred / glorification of National Socialism, serious threats or extortion, advertising or solicitation of illegal acts (including gambling), doxing and technical attacks. We reserve the right to take criminal matters to law enforcement.

Circumvention: After a suspension, continuing via new or other people's accounts is prohibited; circumvention accounts are permanently suspended.
